Gail A. • July 11, 2011probably my favorite beach so far in NY area. park by the Jacob Riis Park parking if you don't have a permit and then walk out to the beach.
Foxxy B. • September 8, 2017For a public "city" beach, I'm impressed. No, I didn't (& probably wouldn't) take a dip, but for Labor Day the beach was pleasantly crowded & surprisingly convenient. A → S train during the summer!
Tracy S. • April 19, 2016Completely renovated and is so peaceful to take a nice walk -- especially before beach season and the crowds
Robin K. • August 25, 2015Great for surfing and to grab a pulled pork burger down by the beach after !
Tiah • July 25, 2017Was a big disappointment. Thought it was similar to Coney Island but was not. Nice if you are just looking for a beach. I'm thinking we maybe didn't walk far enough.
RC • August 19, 2020Over 20 years since my last visit, man this place has changed so much for the better ! Family & I enjoyed ourselves, oh and because of COVID, the water was so clear ! ❤️ Bring water shoes! 😉
Carolyn H. • August 25, 2013It's pretty nice after a makeover after sandy they've got a nice beach bar on the boardwalk
Suki • August 7, 2017Awesome spot in the mornings before work, not too crowded. Weekends are packed.
Lexy M. • July 16, 2016A great day trip! Rockaway Beach is still very clean & pure compared to any beaches close by 🏖
Rockabus • June 30, 2013The Rockabus provides nonstop transportation from Williamsburg and the Lower East Side to Beach - 84th St. and Shore Front Parkway!
Damian B. • June 19, 2015Public beach w restrooms, food, drinks and surf boards available. When facing the ocean, swimming happens on the left of the rock break and surfing on the right (don't get whistled at)
A.J. F. • August 29, 2011When crowded with surfers, head to Beach 66th (either walk the boardwalk or take the Q23). Great rights and lefts anywhere between the jetties parallel to Beach 68th thru Beach 59th.
Krista M. • August 24, 2014Check out the new food court on the boardwalk at beach 17th street, they serve some really good jerk chicken.
New York Habitat • February 25, 2014One of the largest urban beaches in the U,S., this beach offers a long boardwalk, food vendors and a surfing area where you can ride the waves!
